SPEAKER PROFILE

Yi Shin is the Head of Data Strategy and Performance at PETRONAS, a dynamic global energy group with presence in over 100 countries. Since 2020, she is responsible for shaping the data strategies, orchestrating efforts to scale and institionalise Data and AI across the organisation. She also believes that data literacy is the new language of the 21st century and is an advocate and lead for several initiatives aimed at elevating individuals, the organisation and the nation at large thrives in today’s data driven economy.

Yi Shin holds a Master’s in International Business and Bachelor of Science from Monash University. Despite earning a degree in science, she found herself drawn to the dynamic and fast-paced corporate world. Prior to PETRONAS, she started her career as a management consultant and brings with her over a decade of experience in strategy within various industries to deliver lasting business value.

Yi Shin is a Certified Data Management Professional accredited by DAMA. Since March 2023, she was appointed the Vice President Secretariat for the newly established Data Management Association (Forming Chapter) in Malaysia. She is also the Program Lead for Code Without Barrriers in PETRONAS – a pioneering initiative aimed at transforming the Future of Work for Women in the space of Data & Analytics.
